I always have my eye on the latest in eye-wear — whether it be optical or sunglasses, so I wanted to share a new brand I just discovered with all of you. I’ve been introduced to the luxury line Leisure Society created by Shane Baum.
No stranger to chic eye-wear, Baum has designing credits for both Paul Frank and Louis Vuitton on his resumé, but has now taken his talent for craftsmanship in a new direction.
Leisure Society is a collection of handcrafted, high quality sunglasses and optical frames with gorgeous ornate detailing wrapped up in brilliant 12k, 18k, and 24k gold.
They’re absolutely stunning!
The collection — which features designs named after ivy league universities like Princeton, Yale, Oxford, Harvard, Dartmouth and Brown, already has a line of A-list fans — including actress Kristen Stewart.
If you’re familiar with her off-camera style, you know that this girl loves her sunglasses! Recently, the 22-year-old “Snow White and the Huntsman” star was spotted on three separate occasions wearing her new favorite “Harvard 47″ shades in the color Bone.
With a shape inspired from a style issued to troops by the military in WWII, this pair of unisex sunglasses are made up of 100% pure titanium. They’re also available in burgundy, black, brown and tortoise.
While Baum’s shades can set you back at a minimum of nearly $600 USD — they can also go up to $50,000. I’m totally serious. Kristen’s shades fall into the $600-$700 price range.
