Kristen Stewart barefoot and headstrong at 'On The Road'

LATimes    When Kristen Stewart emerged from a large black car Thursday night in front of Toronto's Ryerson Theatre for the North American premiere of her new movie, "On the Road," the big-screen adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s classic Beat generation novel, flashbulbs popped, cellphones were raised, and then, in a moment of silence, one sound landed with a crashing thud.

Stewart and her "On the Road" costars Garrett Hedlund and Kirsten Dunst stayed on the festival's red carpet for what seemed an eternity, moving back and forth between professional photographers on one side and fans on the other. Stewart, in a slinky sequined sheath, eventually kicked off her high heels and signed autographs in her bare feet.

Kristen Stewart on Possible Next Project 'Lie Down the Darkness': It's Not Happening Yet

AceShowbiz   Contrary to swirling reports that Kristen Stewart has officially snatched "Lie Down in Darkness" as her next project post-"Twilight Saga", the actress herself confessed that she still hadn't secured any new movie gig yet. Though so, she admitted to be happy for not being committed to any project so she could be free to pick her next film.

"It's been a little while since I haven't had stuff mapped out, so it's nice," she told MTV News. "I'm in a good place to choose." When asked about her involvement in "Lie Down the Darkness", Kristen responded, "I don't know yet."

"I know it's weird to skirt subjects. I think it's been said on the Internet that I'm doing 'Lie Down in Darkness'; it's not happening just yet," the Los Angeles native clarified the report. "I don't know when they're [going to officially green-light the film]. I love that thing, I would do anything to get that to go, but it's just not yet. Hopefully it does, but other than that, nothing."

Kirsten Dunst and Kristen Stewart Discuss Their On the Road Undergarments

InStyle   On the Road’s costume designer Danny Glicker created the Beat Generation-inspired wardrobe for stars Kristen Stewart and Kirsten Dunst meticulously—down to the very last detail, including the not-seen underwear. “I’ve never worked more closely with a costume designer,” Stewart told InStyle.com at InStyle‘s pop-up photo studio at the Windsor Arms Hotel during the Toronto International Film Festival. “He is so caring and specific about details. Even with an article of clothing like an undergarment, he’s like ‘Do you feel pretty?’ Do you like it? Do you like the bra, do you like the socks, do you like the snaps holding them up?’ He fuses you into it and allows you to sort of feel a little responsible, sort of involved.” Glicker’s process of combining found and handmade clothing from the late 1940s was one Dunst loved, too. “We had high-waisted underwear and bras with a pointed shape—you can tell because of the way your breasts look in the shirts is a more pointed silhouette,” she said, noting that it helped her transform into her retro character. “I love doing period films. Modern clothing for a film is not as exciting.” Catch a glimpse of what they mean by watching the trailer and click through the gallery for more inside scoop from TIFF.

Kristen's Interview with Movie Line part 2

MovieLine  Before Twilight and even before Kristen Stewart was first approached to be in On The Road by Brazilian-born director Walter Salles, the young actress read the Jack Kerouac novel for school. She told Movieline that she picked up the book because it was an assignment given, but her experience with the now American classic evolved. "I found the book fun," she said. But after reading and studying it more, it became much more compelling and taught her personal life lessons about growing up, making choices and dealing with inhibitions. She also emphasized that while she played the comparatively wild Marylou, she does not judge her uninhibited character.

Kristens Interview with Movie Line

Movieline  Kristen Stewart fans may have been disappointed that the Twilight superstar did not make an appearance at last week's MTV Video Music Awards, but crowds here in Toronto had the chance to see the actress on the red carpet for the North American premiere of Walter Salles' On The Road along with fellow cast members Garrett Hedlund, Kirsten Dunst, Amy Adams and Sam Riley. Stewart spoke with ML about the part she had actually landed before she filmed her first Twilight installment. Stewart shared her thoughts on the steamy relationship between her character Marylou and Hedlund's Dean Moriarty — a life-long relationship that was rife with affairs, drugs and a wild ride on the road.
