THE OFFICIAL LINEUP ANNOUNCEMENT WILL NOT BE MADE UNTIL OCT. 10, BUT ANTICIPATION IS ALREADY GROWING FOR THE EVENT IN ITS FIRST YEAR UNDER THE DIRECTION OF MARCO MUELLER.
THR THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DOWN PART 2 IS REPORTED TO BE A STRONG CANDIDATE TO BE THE CENTRAL FILM ROME’S ALICE IN THE CITY SIDEBAR FOR YOUNG PEOPLE, THE ONLY COMPETITIVE COLLATERAL EVENT MUELLER RETAINED FROM THE PREVIOUS SIX ROME FESTIVALS. THE ADVENTURE-FANTASY STORY IS SCHEDULED TO OPEN WORLDWIDE NOV. 14, WHICH IS DURING THE ROME FESTIVAL.

Cosmopolis opened the competition for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival 2012.
Go through Manhattan in a limo for a haircut, an asset multimillonariogestor aged 28, became an odyssey with a cast of characters that begin to break his world. The film stars Robert Pattinson, Paul Giamatti, Samantha Morton, Sarah Gadon, Juliette Binoche and Amalric Mathier.
David Cronenberg born in Canada is dubbed as the 'king of venereal horror "or" The Baron of Blood'. He won this state after the release of two of his horror films, Rabid and They Came from Within. Since then, he has been the author of many films of the same genre and has garnered much praise from critics worldwide.

Cosmopolis Will Be Compete at Bucharest International Experimental Festival 2012
"Cosmopolis ", the latest film directed by David Cronenberg and also production which showed at Cannes that Robert Pattinson actually has talent, will have two screenings in Romania.
This festival will be held from 20 to 25 October at the Cinema Studio and Cinema Elvira Popescu Bucharest.

Cosmopolis and On The Road will Compete in Mumbai Film Festival 2012
In recent years the Mumbai Film Festival has been wet dreams for any movie lover. The game was simple - they picked all the winners and nominees of all film festivals in the world. The list this year is not yet revealed but some titles have been confirmed. And through these titles, it seems like they're on track this year too.
Among the biggest are Rust and Bone by Jacques Audiard (was in competition at Cannes), Walter Salles' On The Road and Snow White (Snow White) by Paul Bergera, a reinvention of the classic Brothers Grimm.
Nandini Ramnath in Mint Lounge has confirmed reports some titles. This includes Amour Michael Haneke, David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis , Ken Loach Share The Angels' Danish films A Royal Affair and The Kauwboy Hunt, and this is the favorite of this year's festival Zeitlin benh Beasts of the Southern Wild.
Festival Dates : 18-25 October, 2012.
Venue : NCPA and INOX. Can anyone confirm if Cinemax Versova will also have screenings or not?
Shifting the venue to South Bombay is a strange decision when the film industry and related people seems to be mostly from suburbs. If you had been to Cinemax Versova for last year’s fest, you know the kind of crowd it attracted. And at the same time screenings at Metro and Cinemax Sion were going almost empty. I might be biased because Andheri (west) suits me best and travelling in Bombay is quite exhausting. So putting up a poll here.

On The Road and Cosmopolis will Compete in Athens International Film Festival
The emblematic beat manifesto is finally adapted for the big screen, courtesy of Walter Salles. Jack Kerouac's autobiographical novel recounts his and his friends' aimless wanderings, including poet Allen Ginsberg and Neal Cassady. The film remains faithful to the source material, where a writer, an ex-convict poet and his nearly underage wife break all conventions in 40s America, as they set out on a frenetic adventure full of high octane ideas, substance abuse, music, delights and all-around danger. David Cronenberg's latest effort sees Robert Pattinson embodying a young millionaire who embarks on a crosstown journey through the streets of New York in a stretch limo, making random acquaintances, having hot sex with Juliette Binoche and shooting people for no reason. Adapting a Don DeLillo novel, Cronenberg ventures down the same path he did with "A Dangerous Method". The combination of capitalism and psychotherapy against the backdrop of a globalized community in revolt. Ph.V.

On The Road will Compete in Mill Valley Film Festival
Walter Salles’ On The Road will open the Mill Valley Film Festival (San Francisco Bay Area) on October 4th. As is tradition with MVFF, which is celebrating its 35th year, there will be two films screening on the night of the festival’s kick-off. David O. Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook will co-open with On The Road. Salles, along with Russell, will be at MVFF in person to present their films.
There will be two screenings of On The Road on opening night, one at 6:30pm and one at 6:45pm at the Christopher B. Smith Rafael Film Center.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on September 16th. The tickets will be available online, by phone 877.874.MVFF (6833), as well as in-person at a number of box offices in the San Francisco Bay Area.
If you are in the area to see the film, you can also make a short trip over to the Beat Museum, as well!
