Guinness World Records announced today on Twitter that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is featured in their 2013 book (which hits shelves on September 11th) as the highest-grossing midnight screening movie.
Eclipse earned $30 million its midnight showing, beating the prior record set by The Twilight Saga: New Moon of $26.27 million, but in July, 2011 Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 earned a whopping $43 million to topple that record. So, it's not clear here why the 2013 edition of Guinness still recognizes the Eclipse record, but oh well!
Previously, the publication recognized Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke for "Highest-Grossing Movie By a Female Director" in 2010 and New Moon for Highest Opening-Day Gross ($72.7 million) in the 2011 edition. For The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 U.K. distributor Entertainment One sought to set a world record for largest gathering of brides.
GOD bless you
